Wow... Lisbeth, Lisbeth, you be buggin'! Salander finds herself in a kind of a The Fugitive, Jason Bourne kind of role here in this addictive sequel. It gripped me and did not let me go til the end. Masterful and entertaining... I'm glad I gave the Larsson trilogy a try; it's great stuff!

Another page turner....hard to put down 2010-09-10

Stieg Larsson has written another very good thriller. The more I get to know Lizbeth Salander the more I grow to love her. She has been victimized her whole life by just about everyone, but she is in no way is willing to lay down and play the victim. She's a fighter and it is neat to see her relationships with the very few people in the world she has learned or is learning to trust. I could not put this one down and could not wait to get started on the 3rd in the series.

Not as good as the first one 2010-09-10

I think the second one is with better writing (or translating) compared to the first one, but the story itself is not as good in terms of suspense to the first book. The second book is all about Lisbeth Salander, which the author is apparently putting her as the center of the trilogy and unmasking her past to the readers. In a way I love the arrangement as in book one she just looks too mysterious and omnipotent to me. In this book I get to understand her better, all her flaws, weaknesses, and of course her amazing abilities which all linked to her past. However, I do think the story line is weaker in this one, with less suspense probably comes from the fewer characters. The first 100 pages are pretty much wasting of time if you ask me, and it didn't pick up the speed until Dag and Mia were murdered. And I think the book needs some serious editing too. I understand the author is trying to explain about Salander, why she's acting in certain ways and where she comes from, I get it. But he doesn't need to repeat himself for the 15th times. The reader is not that dumb! The constant repetition and going into unnecessary details (such as what Salander bought from 7-Eleven) is simply annoying, like we really care about each item she bought from the store. It's to the point of absurd if you ask me. The book can easily takes out some 200 pages if the editor does his/her job better.

Even with all the flaws I still think this book is with some good efforts to continue from the first installment. I'll finish the last one and hopefully it can be fulfilling.

This is a sequel to Larsson's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and it grabs the reader from the very first page. It ties up many of the unanswered questions that arose in 'Tattoo' and further enhanced Salander's character. Well written and produces a thought provoking experience that will be hard to replicate.

Good continuation of the serial. Many colorful characters introduced alongside heroes Blomkvist and Salander. No letdown from the first novel. Larsson = the Scandinavian Robert Ludlum.

Looking forward to reading the third in the trilogy.
