Perhaps it isn’t April Fools day after all! Pottermore Shop now open

Pottermore ShopI mentioned last week that Pottermore is set to open to the public on April 1st, unless it is a cruel April Fools day joke to potter fans.  It seems the Pottermore team is hoping to dispel the fears that it might be a joke by releasing part of the site (a part that wasn't previously even available to beta users) today!  The Pottermore Shop, where we can finally purchase Harry Potter e-books, is now available in the US and Britain (with other regions and languages coming soon). I do almost all of my reading these days on a Kindle or Kindle related app because I love the portability of it.  It has been extremely annoying for years that my favorite book series isn't available on Kindle, because they are the books I'd most like to have with me at all times. When I travel, I tend to need to bring several books with me because with all the extra reading time I tend to plow through a few books, and I just can't carry the entire Harry Potter series in my carryon, so you can be sure I will be picking up the Complete Harry Potter Collection (for $57.54) very soon. Is the book better than the movie?

It is no secret that I’m a fan of the Chronicles of Narnia series of books and movies, and as a loyal fan, I follow news related to Narnia, and one of my favorite news sources for Narnia related news is NarniaFans.com.  I don’t normally bother to post Narnia related Read more…

Happy New Year 2008!

Has it been a year already? It seems like such a short time ago that I sat up at 2 a.m. in a hotel room in San Simeon, CA writing about 2006. I claimed 2006 incredible and, an "oddity" in my life as for the first time in recent years I was not alone and sad on New Years Eve. Tonight I'm starting a little early, it's 11:31 p.m. right now as I type these words (I imagine it will take me a bit to finish writing this post) on New Years Eve, and I'm capping yet another amazing year in the life of Nick Moline. Nick Moline is on the air

When I first started this blog just over 3 years ago (July, 2003) it was my second jaunt into internet pop culture. My foray into the culture of the web (after years of being a sort of web recluse) was to write a fanfic, then I created a blog, and now, now after these 3 years, I have published my first podcast episode. WizardCast is a Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Role Playing podcast by the staff of Wizards.Pro and the HogwartsLive RPG. (more…)

521,600 minutes, how do you measure a year

My how time flies. I went to my blog today and noticed, low and behold, that I hadn't updated it in over a year (15 months to be more exact) and a lot certainly has happened in that year. With this new post I have also replaced my old blogging software (I was never quite happy with Blog:CMS) with Wordpress, which I was reluctant to try, but now I find it to be such a good blogging software that I have no idea what I had against it for so long. Busy

Following my Restless night's sleep I had a rather busy day. I received calls for support from the SWDCMA, from ERCC, and from FTMC. FTMC I handled over the phone, SWDCMA I started to handle remotely, but in the process of trying to fix their problem I had to upgrade the firmware on their router, which of course resulted in resetting the router's settings to factory conditions. So I had to bum a ride from one of David's friends to get over to the SWDCMA office and set the router back up. (more…)
